Affordable Clothing from Femme Luxe

If you love to follow ever changing fashion trends, but don’t want to break the bank, UK based Femme Luxe is one women’s clothing store to consider.

Launched in 2017, the brand offers women affordable and wearable collections, with many crazy offers and discounts, such as party dresses for just 99 pence!

Needless to say, there is great demand for their cheap clothing, even with reality stars, including love Island’s Jess Shears and The Only Way Is Essex Lauren Pope and Chloe Sims, whom have been seen on Instagram in various Femme Luxe pieces.

So, I would like to thank Femme Luxe for asking me to review three pieces from their clothing collection.

I will admit I had not previously heard of the clothing company and the main reason is that I personally believe their clothes are aimed at a younger generation.

In my head, I would love to wear some of the clothes stock, but my age and clothes size are at odds with majority of their sassy pieces.

However, saying that, were a few items I liked and thought would look good and so I chose the following three items to review.

Maria Black Loungewear Suit Set

Black Loungewear Tracksuit Set – Maria
I tried the loungewear tracksuit top and bottom set – Maria in black which was priced at £29.98. I picked the L/XL (12/14) size as I border on size 14 in most items these days. This set is also available in many other colours including khaki, cream and grey.

These items are part of the Co-Ords collection and the black top features a round neck with cuffed sleeves and hemline and is made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane. It has a lightweight feel to it and is lovely and soft next to my skin.

The fit is a little snug for me and although it sits neatly on my body the fabric is stretched which gives it a thin and almost sheer look. Therefore, I would either wear this top over a black vest top around the house or out and about to layer under a jumper for extra warmth.

As for the tracksuit bottoms, to me they feel more like a pair of leggings.  They’re made from the same fabric as the top and feature cuffed ankles and a mock tie waistband, which sits nicely on my waist.

These loungewear bottoms are a great length, but again I have the same problem as the top, between fitting me snugly and being a thin fabric, they do become slightly transparent. I would wear these tracksuit bottoms around the house with a long baggy jumper to cover any underwear sightings.

Black Utility Tie Waist Shirt Dress Jacket

Black Utility Tie Waist Shirt Mini Jacket Dress – Tilly
Next I tried on the black utility tie waist shirt mini jacket dress – Tilly in a size 14 and this item was priced at £51.99.

This lightweight, 100% cotton black button fronted jacket has many features which include 2 breast pockets and 2 hand pockets with velcro fastenings. Also, the jacket has button cuffed long sleeves and finished off with a cotton belt to cinch in the waist.

This jacket felt a little starched when I first opened it, but like most cotton based fabric, it will soften up over time. If you fancy a different colour then this jacket is also available in brown and beige. I would probably wear this jacket around late Spring early Summer as it won’t keep you warm at this time of year.

Unfortunately for me, this jacket feels a little tight and I would have preferred to order a size 16, alas a 14 is the largest size that Femme Luxe stock for this jacket.

Personally for me the sleeves are a bit snug on my arms and sadly, I can’t close the buttons comfortably without the jacket pulling tightly across my chest.

However, the silver lining is I can wear it loosely across my body like an open shirt, which I think works well.

Camel Italian Collar Belted Long Coat

Camel Waterfall Duster Belted Long Coat
Lastly, and my favourite item out of the three is this camel waterfall duster belted long coat  which is reasonably priced at £37.98.

Again, I opted for the largest size available which was L/XL (12/14). This longline coat features a shawl style collar, 2 front side pockets and a belt.  If camel is not your preferred colour, this coat comes in a variety of colours from red, khaki to off white and charcoal to name a few.

The coat is made from 100% polyester and has a soft lightweight feel to it. The touch of the coat reminds me of a soft fleece blanket I want to wrap around myself.

I’ve teamed this coat with my black jeans, top and my leopard print scarf today. I would wear this coat if I was going out for a meal or catching up with friends for coffee. It’s a great coat to wear as a fashion piece to add an extra layer for styling.

The fit again is a bit snug on the arms for me and I can’t close it neatly over my chest, but again I can get away with wearing it hanging loosely over my shoulders, which I think looks just as good.

Also, a big plus in my eyes is that all the above items are machine washable at 30 degrees.

I think most of the clothing range at Femme Luxe is aimed at women aged 16-35 year old, especially the glitter, satin and Christmas party dresses collections. The clothing range is very reasonably priced and they do have some great offers and discounts available on their stock.

All in all, I have been happy with the items I was gifted by Femme Luxe and I’m really looking forward to wearing these three pieces in the future.
