Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Although I leave the main gifts until November (as children invariably change their little minds!) I do love to start shopping for stocking fillers along the way and as my children love their slippers, this is one gift they have come to expect to find from Santa.
I love the great variety of fun, colourful and playful children’s slippers available and thankfully plenty of TV and Movie character themed pairs aswell, from Peppa Pig, Spiderman to the animated hit movie Frozen.
Looking around there is an abundance of choice to suit each individual child perfectly. Go for the chunky and comical looking ‘Stompeez’!
Just like these magical unusual Unicorn girls slippers which are available from Littlewoods at just £19.
Your little Princess will love the look and playfulness of these slippers. As she walks through the house their funny 3d eyes and lashes bob up and down and certainly bring the character’s design to life.
They will also keep little toes all warm and snuggly through Winter.
I love the collection of children’s slippers at Mothercare like the Spiderman and Batman character themed slippers for boys and the Hello Kitty, Minnie and Peppa Pig pairs for keeping the girls happy.
Depending on the size of the slipper, some smaller pairs feature a velcro flap for securing the foot in perfectly for first time walkers, whilst others have an elasticated back, making it easy for little ones to pop them on themselves.
For older boys and girls, slippers tend to be more animal, fairisle or plain faux fur pairs. A great choice for ages 6+ are a slipper boot, whether it’s knitted or faux fur, they will certainly keep feet warm and cosy and there is no chance of them falling off little or big feet.
If your children really don’t like the thought of ‘old people’ slippers, that’s anyone over the age of 25 yrs old in my house, then why not opt for the anti slip grip slipper socks.
As children are used to wearing socks these won’t be so alien on their feet and are a great transitional accessory and easier to pop into their Xmas stockings!
Big or small there are some great character themed slipper socks to choose from and as I am looking for Santa stocking fillers, I was drawn to these cute reindeer toddler pair at Jojo Maman Bébé.
They feature a durable and sturdy fun suede sole adding a great grip, specifically on wooden or tiled floors, whilst the soft knitted stripey sock will also keep their lower legs warm.
And little feet pitter pattering around in these slipper socks will certainly get them into the festive spirit.
So whether this is going to be your first time or the children expect Santa to bring them new slippers or socks, adding them to the Christmas stockings is a great way to add some fun, cute and snuggly gifts for them.
So once again, thank you Santa for giving us so many choices to keep little feet cosy and warm this year.
