Patterned Tops for Winter

It was that time of year again when I took a look at the Next Sale and tried to bag a few bargain snazzy pieces, and I was lucky to purchase 4 new long tops all of varying shapes, styles and patterns – just like I wanted.

Apart from the fact that I did have to wait about 4-6 weeks for my tops to arrive which is annoying but understandable with the amount people spend in the Next sales, the tops were worth the wait – just! 😉

The first of these tops was a black abstract animal printed top and the feel, fit and pattern on this top just ticked all the boxes for me. I also liked the way the lower sleeve was slightly loose and gathered at the cuff, giving the top a more chic feel.

NEXT abstract animal print topIt’s made from a mix of polyester and elastene and can be worn on it’s own or layered up over other tops for added warmth during the Winter months. I have worn it as a jumper over a long sleeved top, just be careful as the boat neckline is quite wide. A bargain at £11.50, reduced down from £26.00.

The next top I received was this ecru animal boxy top with three quarter length sleeves. A more lightweight top made from 100% viscose with a smart soft square neckline. This versatile top can be worn for work or casually and I just love the fit and length of this everyday top, a great staple piece to add to my wardrobe.

The sleeves have the added detail of a piping near the cuff and I love the splash of blue amongst the black and white animal print. Again at a snip of a price at £12.

The third top I chose was this gorgeous and simple scarf layer lace trim top which was reduced from £25.00 to a steal at £8.00. I loved the pattern on this top and have again worn it as a jumper the last few times as it’s easy to wear any top underneath.

I love the subtle dark grey lace detailing on the sleeve and the added bonus of a cream sequinned scarf included in the bargain is just the icing on the cake to finish off this casual top.

Lastly, I love my Breton style stripey tops and when I saw this Boohoo slogan stripe top I knew it was one to add to the collection. In fairness to me, I don’t have a deep pink stripe top as for some reason it’s a colour I don’t normally choose, preferring more earthy tones or sticking to my greys and navy blues.

But this “Au Revoir” embroidered top caught my eye and it fits beautifully and I really do like the shade of pink. It’s great to wear under jumpers, as it’s fitted it sits well under garments, but also worn on it’s own it’s a fabulous staple “go to” top on casual school run days. Another giveaway price of £7.00, so really have bagged some great bargains this time.

What I love about all these tops is that they are a great length, so can be worn in our out of trousers/jeans and be mixed and match from casual to smart casual pieces.

Really happy with these 4 purchases and with the NEXT Christmas VIP sale just around the corner, I’m hoping to bag a few more bargains – it’s part of my Christmas tradition 😉
