Well summer is here, unpredictable weather, Wimbledon and Summer weddings. A wedding is always a lovely celebration to be a part of whether it is family, friend or work colleague, it’s always a great excuse to buy a whole new outfit, if you needed one that is.

Debenhams have a great selection of occasional wear to suit all your needs and likes from top to toe. Lets start with the clothing, will you choose a dress or suit? I prefer a dress with either a shrug or jacket as I think it’s elegant and glamorous and as I’m being honest, a lot more comfortable.

Depending on the setting of the wedding, will help you decide if you go for a shift dress or a maxi style long dress. If you opt for the shift dress, then Debenhams have plenty to choose from.

The straight shift dress with tiered layers is a favourite of mine and the tea party style with a fitted bodice and waist with a slightly flared skirt takes me back to the 50’s inspired look.

If you prefer to keep your legs covered especially if it is a late afternoon or evening ceremony then a smart maxi styled dress is perfect.

The bold colours, floral or Aztec patterns and upper body styles from halterneck, deep V neckline or bandeau styles will all look fabulous especially if teamed with a tiny shrug and killer heels.

Talking of killer heels, a smart pair of platform patent court shoes always adds a touch of sophistication to a wedding outfit or if you prefer some strappy metallic or sequined high heeled sandals depending on the shape, colour and pattern of your dress.

To complete your wedding guest ensemble, accessories are a must. Do you wear a hat or fascinator, I’ve worn both to different weddings and enjoyed many lovely compliments along the way.

Again I guess it depends on the venue, your hairstyle and the weather! Hats in bad weather tend to fly off in the air!

As for bags and jewellery that all depends on the pattern or print of your dress. Do you like to match your shoes and bag like me, metallics are bang on trend at the moment.

As for jewellery, bring out your best bling to add some glitz and glamour to complete your summer wedding outfit.
