It’s taken me a while to gain the confidence to wear a pair of these stylish and decorative trousers, but I’m so glad that I have.
My previous thoughts were that they would make my “athletic thighs” stand out even more than they already do, and “does my bum look big in this” would be the understatement of the year!! However, I have been pleasantly surprised, thankfully.
My one and only pair, to date, were bought last month and they are from Wallis. They feature a large neutral coloured floral print on a black background. (Breaking myself in gently, I know with the safety of a black base)!
These lightweight cotton trousers have a semi-fitted design with tapered legs and they are available in shades of blue or purple flowers aswell.
With the lovely rear half elasticated waistband detail these trousers are so comfortable, that they fit neatly and stay in place. I have problems in that my waist and bottom measurements are somewhat obscure to your average size 12 or 14, so the elasticated waistband is a great find for me.
But now I have my eyes set on my next pair of jazzy legwear and these will certainly make me stand out in the crowd. These HotSquash palm print trousers are a fabulous piece of clothing to be worn day or night.
The vibrant colours and snazzy all over pattern, together with the obligatory elasticated rear waistband and tapered leg gives these blue mix trousers an elegant and chic finish to an outfit whatever the occasion.
Mix and match these House of Fraser printed trousers with an oversized jumper and low heeled boots for a smart yet casual day look, or really ‘go to town’ and pop on a chiffon or lace top with high heels, clutch and some statement jewellery to Wow! on an evening out.
Now that I have convinced myself that pattern clothing is not only a seasonal must have but also a beautifully feminine and graceful stylish look to wear, there will be no stopping me and I’m sure you will feel the same when you go out in a new pair of printed flamboyant trousers.
The other great thing about printed trousers is you can mix and match plain tops, jackets or ponchos to highlight a certain colour that you love the most, and this will help to tone the pattern down a bit.
So go ahead and ‘bite the bullet’, don’t be afraid to add bold prints and patterns to your legwear, just make sure that the cut of the trouser design suits your body shape and your Autumn/Winter wardrobe pieces will never be dull again.
