The polo shirt has come a long way over the passed few years, making it a great wardrobe essential for all you men out there!
A smarter alternative than an emblazoned t-shirt which can be worn day or night for a smart and casual event mixed and matched with jeans or stylish tapered chinos.

I admit that I’m not the greatest fan of the plain polos but I do like to see my hubby in the patterned or striped polo shirts that are around at the moment.
But I have noticed the contrasting coloured collar, button placket and pocket detail polo shirts that are on trend now and I do think these add a gorgeously snappy dimension to an otherwise quite ordinary top.
My three favourites from the Debenhams range are slightly varied in colour but the designs are similar.
Fred Perry seems to understand the need for a casual mens top that can be dressed up with the hot new trend of tapered coloured jeans and chinos, and this is why I think the Maroon Pique Checked Collar Polo Shirt is one of the best.
Not only is it created in this season’s hot fashion colour maroon, but the checked collar and pocket detail finish off the top charmingly.
This charismatic top matched together with some tabacco tapered chinos and some lace up casual pumps adds a touch of classic smart casual wear to your guys wardrobe.
In equal measure, the Fred Perry Blue Chambray Trim Pique Polo Shirt is a firm favourite.
With denim coming back as a hot trend this year, the contrasting chambray denim collar, back shoulder yolk and pocket detail look awesome.
This lightweight polo shirt will look great when contrasted with dark wash denim jeans or navy tapered trousers.
These Polo shirts offer you great quality fabric of 100% cotton, which is both breathable and durable and they are all available in different sizes like the Big and Tall range.
For the final top I’ve chosen this RJR John Rocha polo shirt which has a very busy floral grey pattern throughout and again with the distinctive denim collar and button placket.
This top makes me think of a more Summer’s day time top and would look fantastic dressed with denim or cargo shorts.
There are certainly numerous polo shirts to choose from and I think there is something for everyone.
The traditional plain coloured ones with just the branded logo on the chest, subtle and bold stripe and patterned shirts and the ones I have mentioned above with the contrasting coloured sections.
