After a few weeks off over Christmas and New Year enjoying the festivities with family and friends, I’ve also been a bit busy with some recent purchases for some much needed tops in the sales.
I’d been keeping my eyes open on some pieces I liked at Marks and Spencer and I managed to find one of them in the sale. It’s this gorgeous red ruffle high neck long sleeved top from the M&S Collection range.
At first I was disappointed that the M&S website only had a size 16 and 20 left in stock, and resigned myself to crossing it off the list.
However on an unplanned visit to my local M&S store two days later, I found a size 12 and thought I’d try it on in the hope it might fit and thankfully as you can see from the photo, it does! 🙂
I love the high ruffled neckline, the frills along the chest, sleeve and flared cuffs and the cut out pleated panel down centre which finishes off this gorgeous red top beautifully.
It has a lovely length to it, so can be worn inside your jeans or casually over them. Haven’t had an occasion to wear it yet but I’m sure I will soon.
I’ve also found a white version of my top which also looks fab if you don’t like the red.
I think the red ruffle top will become a key piece in my wardrobe, as it will be easy to mix and match with jeans, trousers or even when I’m being “adventurous” with a skirt. 😉
A smart, casual top which is 100% viscose which I’m hoping will wash well and keep it’s shape like most of M&S clothing pieces do.
Who knows I might be lucky again next week when I’m out and about shopping in the city! There did seem to be quite a bit of sale stock left at M&S, Debenhams and Monsoon, from the brief look I had in the smaller stores last week.
