I’ve always found Regatta jackets both durable and versatile and when I had to say goodbye to my 10 year old lightweight jacket recently, I knew I’d be replacing it with yet another waterproof jacket from them.

Regatta Pulton Waterproof Jacket

The reason I continue to return to Regatta is purely down to the quality of their garments.   They claim their jackets are waterproof and as I’ve been caught out in many a heavy shower on various walks, they’ve always kept me both warm and dry – at least on the top half of my body!

I was searching for a plain black jacket and ordered this women’s Pulton waterproof jacket directly from Regatta.  I was really lucky to find it in the half-price sale as it’s normal retail price is £100 but I bought it for just £49.95.

I decided to order a size up to a size 16 rather than order my usual 14, as I sometimes like to wear hooded tops or chunky jumpers underneath.   I find the jackets quite fitted across the chest and shoulders so wanted it a bit looser which this is. So perfect for me but these jackets are quite true their sizes.

This black jacket is made from 100% polyester and is a lightweight coat ideal for outdoor pursuits during these intermittent showery days.  The jacket is slightly longer than some women’s jackets which is one of the reasons I chose it giving me a few extra inches of cover down my back.

This jacket features a stretch Isotex 5,000 polyester fabric which has a durable water repellent finish with taped seams for extra waterproof protection but still lets your body breath.

I love the peaked hood with the adjustors as this lets me see clearly without the hood coming too far down over my face or being blown off in the wind.

The added bonus of a high chin guard not only keeps water away from my face but also again makes the hood fit neatly around my face without restriction or me having to hold onto it with my hand, so it stays in place.

The jacket is designed with two zipped lower deep front pockets and an inner zipped security pocket which my mobile phone fits in perfectly.

There is an adjustable hem with concealed press stud poppers on the back hemline to extend the fit on your derriere and also features adjustable arm cuffs which again are hidden from view. My only problem with this jacket is that as I have short arms the cuffs come down over half my hands, but the fastenings help keep them relatively in place.

The finer details such as the hi-tech water repellent zip fastenings and guards together with the understated Regatta embroidery on the chest just complete this simple but super-efficient waterproof jacket.

One final thing I have to mention is that all the lining inside this jacket including the hood has a black shiny hexagon print pattern, which adds to its’ beauty.

I’ve had plenty of use in my new jacket lately especially with some of the heavy showers we’ve experienced over the past week whilst I’ve been out walking.  This coat is amazing, keeps me completely dry and warm, fits well and I really can’t fault it at all.
