One of the fun things to look forward to in the run up to Christmas is the annual Advent Calendars. The kiddies have chosen Lego and Match Attax, my hubby has opted for Thorntons chocolates and I have chosen the Benefit make up 12 days Advent Calendar.
Now I know some will argue that the calendar should have 24 windows, which would be lovely, but would also double the cost I’m sure! And as some of the items I’ve read about, are full sized pieces, I’m not going to be one of the ones to complain.
I chose the Benefit Advent calendar as I’ve been thinking of changing my make up for a while and have read some good reports regarding their make up. So I thought what better way to try some of their range, than those that are in this advent calendar.
As I said earlier there are 12 pieces within this book sized box, ranging from They’re Real! mascara, lip and cheek stains to Hoola bronzing powder and It’s Potent! eye cream amongst other things.
I can’t comment yet on how good the make up is as I’m not allowed to open it until 1st December (or I’ll be on Santa’s naughty list!! LOL) but from what I’ve seen, December can’t come quick enough.
I’ve decided to open my calendar every other day, so that I actually get to use the piece I open for a couple of days before moving on to the next treat!!
I’ve read the reviews on the skincare and make up within this Advent Calendar and although a lot of them say that the make up is great for teenage girls, I have also read that it’s pretty darn good for older skin (like mine!) too.
Skin that is prone to outbreaks of spots, a few wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes! I tick all of those boxes (the 2nd time around).
One of the things I hadn’t read online and was a bit of a surprise when I opened the box to check it was ok – as you do! It started playing a tune and singing a song (the words are written on the back of the box should you wish to take part in a bit of Karaoke)!!
So the quirkiness that Benefit is known for continues and I like it. Just hope I can get the benefit from the skincare and look good in their make up!!
