Well my brown leather gloves have finally had their last few wears! Bought 15 years ago as a christmas gift for me by my hubby, there are now holes in two of the finger tips and the lining has finally worn away.
I’m a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to some things especially when I know I’ve found a great item of clothing.
So I will always try and find the equivalent piece again, or the newly improved product, just like these medium sized Isotoner black leather gloves from Debenhams.
As soon as I tried these gloves on I just knew they were the right pair for me, the fit, albeit snug and the lining ensured that my hands (which are cold throughout the Autumn/Winter months) remained lovely and cosily warm.
I went for the leather pair with the ruched cuff and 3 pronged darting detail on the top, as I liked the simplicity of them and they were the same as my brown pair.
The other advantage of leather gloves for me is, when I am driving my hands grip the steering wheel better and when I’m out and about, they repel the water, unlike some of the fabric pairs.
As I said earlier, these Isotoner medium sized gloves are a snug fit, (the large pair were too loose) but with any good leather piece of clothing or footwear, they will stretch a bit and then they will fit perfectly.
Debenhams have a wide range of Isotoner gloves, in various colours, patterns and sizes to suit everyone.
On the other hand, going full circle and not being particularly practical in wet weather, I also like the sherpa lined tan suede gloves.
I love the button detail at the cuff and the outer strip of sherpa wool design. These would actually match my UGG boots perfectly. (see details of my Ugg boots blog here!)
The added bonus of these gloves is the extra warmth they create due to the gorgeous lining.
I would have to size up to a large fitting as the fabric of these gloves don’t have the same give in them as the leather pair.
Also with both these pairs of gloves they cannot be washed, only hand wiped or brushed, so snowball throwing and sledging is out of the question when wearing these gloves. 😉
Debenhams are having an amazing sale on various items at the moment, and this includes their Isotoner gloves, which are currently on offer with a 30% discount.
So if you are looking for yourself, or trying to find a special Christmas gift for a family member or friend, NOW is the time to look for something both practical and gorgeous.
Invest in a pair of Isotoner gloves! I just hope that this pair last as long as my last ones.
