My 9 year old daughter spends the majority of her time in either her school shoes, astro turf trainers or football boots! Which is totally unlike me, as I just loves loads of different footwear – especially sandals in the summer months.
But as one of her birthday gifts last month, I picked up these gorgeous white and gold floral patterned sandals from Marks and Spencer.
She has a long foot, being a 4.5 – 5 adult size already! Thankfully, these little beauties went up to a size 6, which was fantastic and a change from the norm when it comes to catering for larger girls shoe sizes.
Although she does have a pair of flip flops for the garden and beach, these white leather sandals are more sturdy for walking around in.
They are made from a soft strong leather with plenty of coverage across the front and a great buckle fastening around the ankle.
My daughter doesn’t like frills, pompoms, glitter and girly colours like pink too much, especially on shoes, so this pair from Marks and Spencer with it’s pretty daisy flowers in gold and white and the simple strap detail throughout are the perfect combination of being girly without being overly girly if you see what I mean!
She has worn these sandals on a few occasions now, and never complains about sore feet, and has told me that the straps are soft on her skin. I do like the fact that there are three white straps across the front, this enables the toes to be slightly covered, offering better protection.
The adjustable ankle strap is another great feature as it means that my daughter can determine where the sandal fits most comfortably on her ankle when she’s walking.
Also, with the neutral colours of white and gold, the sandals mix and match with everything in her summer wardrobe.
Unfortunately, because these were such a popular pair of sandals they are now sold out in most of the popular sizes, but there are many similar pairs in different colours and styles still available at M&S.
