Having bought new verifocal lens glasses, my optician mentioned that there are now a multi focal contact lens available – something I had wished for, for a long time.
I only wear contact lenses if I am exercising or going out for an evening.
When exercising, looking at things closely is not such an issue unless I’m trying to look at my Garmin Vivofit 3 watch to check my progress.
However when I go out for a meal, I used to find it increasingly difficult to read the menu or messages on my mobile phone properly, as my old contact lenses were for distance only.
I tried taking reading glasses with me, but they didn’t work great, especially when I wanted to read a text on my mobile phone. Asking friends to read the menu or a private message on my phone was my only alternative.
So I decided to give the multi focal contact lenses a trial run with a free 5-day trial pack with Boots Opticians and for the first time, I can honestly say that I actually enjoyed wearing contact lenses.
I could easily see my phone messages, menu and books close up, which was a huge benefit.
Granted the distance in my right eye wasn’t as clear with my other lenses or glasses, (and the optician warned me that would be the case!) but that is due to my slight astigmatism in that eye, NOT the multi focal lens – because the vision in my left eye for distance was great.
So after a few weeks of umming and ahhing over whether I could afford the cost of something else on top of my new Radley glasses and Vogue sunglasses, I bit the bullet and ordered 60 pairs at a cost of £84.00.
They were delivered within 10 days and I must say, it is great to be able to see clearly close up as well as distance when wearing the contact lenses – truly a first for me and my “wonderful” eyesight.
I still only wear them for exercising and going out, but at least I can read what is on my Garmin Vivofit 3 watch whilst I’m training and read a menu or look at my texts when out and about.
As my eyesight is pretty poor, having a correct and up to date prescription is paramount, and with all the wonderful choices around to accessorize my look, I’m really happy with my new glasses, sunglasses and now these fabulous contact lenses.
I am so chuffed on how comfortable the new 1 Day Acuvue Moist multi focal contact lenses feel throughout the whole day. A great purchase and another way to change my look on certain occasions.
