With all the excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I’m glad I narrowed down my dress hunting search way before the sales began. I could then just go and check out the hopefully, new lower prices of the pieces on my wish list.
Thankfully, I was lucky enough to add a couple of the dresses to the “add to basket” for half price! Happy Days!
So staying on the Christmas party dress theme and following on from my Sequin Christmas Party Dresses blog last week, a new dress is needed for another Christmas party.
This is a more elegant party, including a 4-course meal and entertainment at a plush hotel, so a more sophisticated look is needed. I believe that a lace outfit offers an air of chic and effortless style, so took the time to look at some gorgeous festive party lace cocktail dresses available at John Lewis, and wasn’t disappointed.
However, wearing an all black lace dress is not for me, as too much black makes me look ill and drawn. So I always try to opt for something with a hint of colour whilst remaining elegant and classy.
John Lewis have three of my favourite dresses and all of them apart from one, have been substantially reduced. Thankfully!!
My number one favourite is this Gina Bacconi Beaded Lace Dress which comes in a slate grey shade with beautiful beading and sequins adorned all over a lace covered fitted shift dress.
This striking dress is designed with a high back stand up neck which reminds me of an opulent mandarin collar, and although the front has a low V, it is set tastefully on the chest, not showing a whole load of cleavage which would spoil the pure luxe classy feel of this dress.
The dress also features a delicately cinched in waistline and slightly varied pattern which gives your figure a gorgeously elegant silhouette. The hidden under arm zip fastening neatly completes this sparkling piece.
Here is another beautiful Gina Bacconi dress I like, but this one is understated yet still absolutely stunning!
The beautiful navy blue Gina Bacconi Guipure Lace Chiffon Dress in pure chiffon with a striking luxurious lace crop top and three quarter length scallop edged sleeves is simply an utterly classy and elegant cocktail dress which will suit the venue perfectly.
I’d match this dress with a subtle pair of metallic shoes and bag, delicate drop earrings, my Pandora bracelet and my Seksy rose gold watch for a completely striking and elegant look.
My third choice of dress is this opulent Miss Selfridge Lacey Body Dress in burgundy.
The sheer panelling mixed with the lace and sequins ticks all the right boxes for me.
Also burgundy seems to be a popular shade this festive season, and is a welcome change from black for me.
This Miss Selfridge dress is the only one not on sale at the moment, but is still reasonably priced under £100.00, considering all the detailing of the intricate embellishments and scalloped hemline.
The design of this fitted bodycon shaped dress, will certainly flatter and enhance your figure beautifully. It’s a shame that the zip isn’t concealed more, as I do feel this kind of spoils the elegant feel of the sheer panelling around the shoulders and neckline area on the rear of the dress.
Some metallic shoes, clutch and understated jewellery will complete this striking ensemble!
There are plenty more choices of colours, shapes and styles of lace cocktail dresses at John Lewis, and now is the time to look as they have some amazing discounts not to be missed.
