Having noticed and adored a few of my friends who were wearing these textured zip up jackets, I decided to try one on and was pleasently surprised how it looked.
I got mine on sale from H&M, and I love the mix of a textured monochrome weave with faux leather long sleeves. At first I thought was this really me, but having worn it with a few plain tops and jeans, I realised that it added a rather smart look to an otherwise casual outfit.
I did have to go up a size as the jacket has a very fitted design and there’s not much stretch in the sleeves either, but generally this jacket has added a whole new dimension to my slowly ever growing staple pieces, that can mix and match with some of my old pieces as well as my new ones.
Unfortunately, my jacket has now sold out but I have found that La Redoute stock similar pieces like mine.
A really gorgeous piece is this stylish dual fabric jacket, it’s long sleeves, faux leather collar and inner trim has been finished off with an asymmetric silver zip fastening, for a purely classic look.
This jacket is a great alternative with it’s marl like texture and faux leather panelling. It will easily mix and match with a varied array of clothing from my wardrobe and certainly jazz up my jeggings and top oufits.
Another favourite is this Balsamik monochrome animal print jacquard jacket.
This extremely elegant jacket gives any outfit a really stylish twist, whether it’s worn with jeans, tailored trousers or even a gorgeous maxi dress/skirt.
The other great thing about this ultra trendy jacket is that it has been specifically designed to fit a fuller bust! And as I seem to have to size up with most jackets this one fitted perfectly in a size 14 – for a change!!
The finishing touches of the fauz leather piping and concealed front zip accentuate the classy feel of this jacket, the only downside for me and the reason I will be returning it, is the fact that it has three quarter length sleeves, which isn’t a problem in the warmer weather, but not ideal for cool Autumn/Winter or Spring days.
The thing with all this style of jackets is their versatilitye, they can be worn with numerous styles of clothing from casual to smart and look equally stunning.
They should surely be staple piece to have in your wardrobe, as a go to way of smartening up your everyday wear.
If you want to steer away from the black and white theme, then La Redoute also offer many similar styles in varying shades, design and fit.
I have regurlarly worn my H&M jacket with so many different pieces in my wardrobe, that I am thinking of buying a navy blue or winter white jacket, as the ones I’ve shown here are too similar to my own.
So my search will go on, but I can definitely say that I am spoilt for choice this season.
