Being a Strictly Come Dancing fan, not only do I love the various dance routines, I also love looking at all the glitz and glamour of some of the most beautiful ball gowns and jazzy little latin numbers around.
Therefore, the start of this years SCD, kick started my enthusiasm to start hunting down my own glitzy dress ready for the coming festive party season.
As you know I love a bit of sparkle and shimmer and some of the dresses that are in the shops this year in varying shapes, sizes, styles and sequins are absolutely exquisite!!
Trying to narrow it down is the hardest part of shopping, as I love so many of them. Saying that I do know what suits me and tend to stick to a similar style of dress.
I have your typical hour glass shape figure – albeit a dress size bigger than I’d like to be at the moment (but I’m working on that!!) So I tend to go for a more fitted style with a cinched in waist, as compared to my boobs and bum, my waist is lovely and narrow.
Debenhams have a sale on their Designer dresses at the moment, so there is no better time to puruse and buy.
So keeping in line with the hot trend of Kimono style tops I chose to look at this gorgeous gold sequinned HotSquash black Kimono dress, as I think it is the perfect combination for me.
The fitted underlayer dress is made from a stretch sateen style fabric with spaghetti straps design and just reaches the knee.
The finishing touch to this outfit is the sheer black kimono style top which is adorned with hundreds of tiny gold sequins.
The top fits neatly over the dress creating a gorgeous shimmery chic and stylish outfit.
The sleeves fall softly around the elbow, so my ever increasing batwing arms are cleverly concealed.
Another favourite is this Phase Eight black ‘Abril’ stripe sequin party dress.
The dress has a knitted underlay with wide straps and a detachable outer layer consisting of a thin knit striped overlay piece which has been encrusted with all over silver and black sequins.
The design is straight and fitted with a round neckline and long sleeves to the cuff.
This easy to pull on dress is a wardrobe staple for the festive party scene, a little bit shorter in length, but still a winner.
And finally I love the sparkle and glitz on the amazing Quiz navy velvet bodycon dress featured here.
The dress is adorned with sequins and a velvet zig zag design throughout, with an unusually square cut neckline to add to the WOW factor of this outfit.
I would probably pair this gorgeous velvet dress with a short bolero jacket, killer heels and some stunning silver jewellery for a sensational seasonal party look.
I love the cut of this sensational dress and the deep blue shade really brings it to life.
So these are my top three favourite sequin covered occasional wear dresses for this years festive party season.
Next time I will be taking a look at my pick of best three luxurious lace dresses available.
