Continuing with my Summer theme, I have been looking for a pair of summer white jeans or jeggings that fit and feel comfortable without the tell tale “see through” problem.
With my ‘athletic thighs’ and chunky bum, white isn’t always the best colour for me, but I really love white during the Summer season.
It may not be practical but I think it looks stunning when mixed with navy blue, tan or yellow which are my favourite colours at the moment.
I’ve tried a few pairs on from various high street stores, but always feel they are just not comfortable enough to be worn with my derriere and underwear seemingly in view!
So I came across two pairs in Marks and Spencer from their Per Una range, that fit well and are not transparant.
The Roma rise slim leg denim jeans are a great everyday jean that are relaxed at the waist, hip and thigh with a narrow opening at the ankle.
Whether these are worn with a sandal, loafer or ballerina pump, the fit of the leg is perfect.
I have a few pretty patterned and striped tops that will mix well with these gorgeous soft white jeans.
They are made from a mix of cotton, polyester and elastene for that extra comfortable stretch and having tried both I know these Roma rise slim leg jeans will be the pair I end up keeping.
I love the fact that the waistline of these jeans actually sits on the waist and not below, which enables me to gracefully disguise my muffin top too. 🙂
As for my other choice, the Roma rise 5 pocket jeggings are available in an ivory shade, which looks a bit like a winter white tone.
They fit comfortably enough, but I felt they were a little tight on my lower leg, which is ideal in Winter when I like to tuck them into my knee high boots.
In Summer, however, when pumps or sandals are worn, I felt they gripped my ankle and lower calf a bit too snuggly.
As mentioned before they are an ivory colour too, so not as vibrant as the soft white slim leg jeans above, although they are still a good, comfortable fit, just more snug.
If neither of the above catch your eye, then take a look at these ankle zip skinny leg denim jeans from Autograph.
They are made from a mix of cotton, polyester, viscose and elastene so are lighterweight and a slightly thinner fabric than the ones I’ve chosen.
However, they do have a more funkier and trendy look to them due to their shape and zip detail.
These jeans will look great in the Summer as they graze the ankle, making them perfect when worn with converse, ballerina pumps or gladiator style sandals.
All three pairs of jeans are available in the usual short, regular and tall versions that Marks & Spencer are known for, and range from sizes 8 to 24, so something for all shapes and sizes.
Now all we need is a lot more sunshine so I can pop on my new Rieker sandals with my new Roma jeans.
