Winter Snood Scarves

We’ve been told that this cold Winter snap is going to continue for a while, but don’t despair as this gives us ladies a great excuse to wrap up in a nice snug warm snood scarf (or two) !!

As much as I love a long chunky knit oversized scarf for Winter, sometimes something small and snug like a snood is more appropriate, especially if you are wearing a chunky padded coat or parka. There are plenty of varied shapes, fabrics and patterns to choose from especially at La Redoute.

Atelier Chunky SnoodMy favourite is this chunky knit Atelier R snood in navy blue (although it is available in grey also). I love the soft feel of the fabric, but more so for the fact that it keeps my neck and sometimes ears lovely and warm.

It has stretched a little bit with the constant use on the cold morning school run, but still keeps it’s shape and hasn’t lost that snugness to keep me warm.

The plainess and neutral colour means I can mix and match it with any of my coloured or patterned coats and jackets easily.

Faux Fur SnoodThis R Studio faux fur snood is a simple and easy way to smarten up any outfit. Whether you choose the green or grey, both shades are glam and gorgeous.

The soft long haired fur will not only add an elegance to your look but will keep you comfortably warm at the same time. Personally I’d opt for the grey as that would match most of my coats, but saying that the deep shade of green would certainly bring out the colour of my eyes better.

Bow Trimmed SnoodLastly, why not be “pretty in pink” with this soft sweet bow trimmed Mademoisselle R snood. This is a double wrap around snood, so will give you some extra warmth and body to it.

Finished off so neatly with a cute bow at the front, this is a brilliant go to snood for everyday use. A little understated, its simplicity has something sweet about it. I might be more tempted to get this one for my daughter than myself.

All in all though, a snood is a great alternative to a scarf and even a hat, especially if it is a chunky knit like my navy blue one which covers my ears.

As much as I love wearing winter bobble hats, I do get frustrated if my hair is having a particularly good day and I want to show it off but it is too cold not wear something to keep me warm, that’s where my chunky knit Atelier snood is a great fixer.
