Hello everyone, I’m back and raring to go. I’ve really missed the buzz of writing my blog and have plenty to talk about.
But firstly, I am excited to write a review on some new loungewear items I was recently sent from Femme Luxe. Due to the lockdown and the restrictions of where we are allowed to go, I chose items to lounge around in and go for my daily walks in. These are the pieces I picked.
Charcoal Oversized Hoodie Shorts Loungewear Set – Ariyah
We’ve been so lucky with the warm weather over the past few months, I realised that my wardrobe was seriously lacking in comfy shorts. So when I saw these charcoal oversized hoodie shorts set, I thought the set would be ideal to wear on a warm day, seeing as they were a loose fitting.
The loungewear shorts and hoodie set comprise of sleeveless oversized hoodie with matching drawstring pull shorts and feature a black ribbed contrast stripe and are reasonably priced at £17.99. As I’m usually a size 14, I opted for the XL (14/16), as I have previously been caught out with sizes being on the fitted side.
However, I was again caught out with the sizing, not because they were too small, the complete opposite in fact – they are too baggy for me.
I was also surprised at how thick the material was. Considering the set is made from a mix of cotton and polyester, I thought they would be fine to wear on a hot day, but they are quite a heavy fabric, so I’d probably opt to wear them on cooler summer days. This loungewear set will be great for wearing around the house.

Rose Short Sleeve Boxy Loungewear Set – Lacy
Another set from the Loungewear collection was this short sleeved boxy t shirt and straight legged cropped jogger style trouser. I opted for the rose pink colour for a lighter alternative during the Summer.
This rose short sleeve boxy lounge wear set cost just £14.99 in femme luxe’s sale, a fab bargain. I picked the 14/16 size (XL) as I always do, and thankfully the joggers fit lovely. They are made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane, so are lovely and cool to wear.
Unfortunately for me, due to my body shape I feel the boxy t-shirt doesn’t suit me, it looks to short and just doesn’t fall smoothly, which is a shame, as I think the colour suits my skin tone, and makes a welcome change from my usual dark shades or black, grey and navy.
I might try and sew some adjustments into the t-shirt by adding some darting to see if that helps with the shaping over my chest, but that’s a job for another day.
This loungewear set is also available in many different colours from grey, khaki and black to snake print to name but a few.
Black Leopard Print ‘Femme La Mode’ Slogan Print T-shirt – Lilianna
I won’t lie to you, I love the fun factor of this black leopard print ‘Femme La Mode’ slogan t-shirt. I’ve been looking for some everyday casual tops to wear when I’m out and about walking and this one just seemed to tick all the boxes.
So I’m afraid I was a bit disappointed when I saw the actual size of the 14/16 tee. It is really big and wide, not at all as it looked in the photo online. In my opinion, it really should have the description of “oversized” in the tag line.
Apart from this fact, I really like the t-shirt and will wear it, just tucked into my jeans, or as I have done in this photo and teamed it with the stone cargo slim fit trouser (Sunny) mentioned below.
The top is really low priced at just £6.99 and is made from 100% cotton. Even the leopard print lip pattern work on the front of the tee is well printed. I would get this top again as it’s also available in white and baby pink, I would just size down to a medium and hope that it fits.
Stone Cargo Slim Fit Trouser – Sunny
Finally, I chose these stone cargo slim fit trouser as I previously had a similar pair of khaki green trousers from Femme Luxe which I’ve really enjoyed wearing. The khaki green trousers are so comfortable and cool to wear, especially when walking along my local canal paths.
I thought I’d pair these stone trousers with the black leopard print top ( as shown above) and my Adidas trainers for a comfortable everyday easy style. The trousers are only £18.99 which means they are a really good bargain especially for a well made casual pair of trousers.
Made from 98% cotton and 2% elastane, they will be a real go to wardrobe staple for me over the coming months, just like my khaki green trousers have been. I wish there was a bit more stretch in these trousers as I think it would definitely help with the comfort of their fit.
They are also available in a variety of colours from coral, pink and beige to the darker shades of khaki, black and camouflage prints.
So all in all I am happy with the quality of the items I’ve received, and the delivery service is amazing even throughout this lockdown period. I just wish clothing sizes were more universal for each piece of clothing no matter where you shop, as this would make online shopping a whole lot easier.
